Getting Ready for Spring
Spring is just around the corner and that means planning and planting for the second year of Hamilton Harvest at Hamilton Food Share!
We had a successful year last year bringing in about 90 000lbs of fresh, locally grown produce. The amazing relationships with local farms such as Plan B, Robinson Farms, Murphy's, Hildreth Farms and RBG were instrumental and we are thrilled to continue these relationships again this growing season. We are always looking for more local farms to participate in our effort to provide those in need with fresh, quality foods.
Our first year also engaged approximately 300 dedicated volunteers from organizations such as HWDCSB, City of Hamilton, local agencies and many individuals just wanting to make a difference. This season will bring many opportunities for groups or individuals to come out in the fields and get their hands dirty for an incredible program.
Please contact us for more information about participating or donating to the program.

Increased Capacity = Assisting more people in need
The recent installation of a refrigerated container to Welcome Inn has brought some exciting news for the clients who access the Wood Street Centre! By increasing the capacity Welcome Inn will now be able to accept more food and in return serve more people in need. Thanks to BJ Green from Event Food Cooling for all his hard work and kindness in increasing the capacity of Welcome Inn!
